What is offered at Urban Nirvana?
Urban Nirvana Thai Massage Studio offers relaxation and rejunvenation through professional holistic healing practices: Thai and Swedish Massage treatments; RMT, Aromatherapy; Reflexology, private and semi-private classes with instructors that teach Yoga, Pilates, Dance, Martial Arts and Bootcamps. Spend an hour or a half day at Urban Nirvana’s studio in downtown Toronto.
What should I expect when I go to Urban Nirvana?
At first: you’ll arrive at 895 Yonge Street; greeted by our beautiful and friendly staff. You are asked to remove your shoes, and fill in an intake form. Please arrive 15-minutes prior to your scheduled massage or class on the first visit. You then change into comfortable clothes. We provide Thai fisherman pants and cotton shirts for all clients to use during the treatment. Treatments vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and we offer half day Spa treatments.
What is Thai Massage and how is it different from other massage or healing modalities?
Thai Massage is considered to be “Assisted Yoga”; the practitioner puts the client into a series of yoga-like stretches throughout the session. It’s essentially like having Yoga done for you. Thai massage is also known to be more energizing than most forms of massages. There is an interesting dichotomy with Thai massages, as it renders both relaxation and invigoration.
Will my extended health care plan cover the costs of massage therapy treatments?
At Urban Nirvana, the Thai Massage Practitioners are Holistic Practitioners. Not all health care plans cover our services however there are some extended healthcare plans which include services like ours. Please check with your plan before hand. If you aren’t, you can send in the invoice and your provider will inform you if it is accepted or not. We do have RMT’s available at Urban Nirvana if this is the only type accepted by your health care.
How often should I visit?
Your body will let you know. Whenever you feel like getting exercise sign up for one of our classes or Thai Massage. We give Thai massage treatments from 15-minutes to 2-hours, and we have classes ranging from 45-minutes to 90-minutes.
Do I have to be athletic or a certain age?
No. We have clients of all ages and of all body types. You do not have to be flexible or particularly athletic to sign up. Urban Nirvana possesses classes and practitioners that tend to Beginner to Advanced levels.
